“Tell Me What It Feels Like”

Photograph by artist Teagan West

A note from the artist: “My work investigates the human experience as connected to our ever-changing relationship with the Natural World. Evolutionary psychology and myth play a large part in my work, as I seek to understand how humans have grown to far apart from living in harmony with the rest of the Earth. This work has become a personal exploration of my own feelings of alienation; an inability to ever fully feel “at home” on the Earth. Cryptic imagery and the overlapping forms within nature seek to visualize these sensations, and leave the viewer with a sense of discomfort and curiosity. The mysterious forms point to signs of intervention within the Natural world, inviting the viewer to investigate further and ask their own questions about ‘why and how’ these symbols were made.”⁣
