“Our World Currently”

A note from the artist: “In my image, I wanted to reflect the terrible circumstances that the world is currently experiencing. This horrible breakout of COVID-19 has caused a nationwide crisis currently resulting in over 300,000 deaths, over 4 million confirmed cases, 35+ million unemployed citizens with small and large businesses getting shut down, and an economic crash. Objectors of the “stay in home order” enforced by government officials to suppress this pandemic are protesting and rallying in the streets in hopes to induce their local governments to end their quarantine orders so they can return to living their normal lifestyles. Then there are anti-quarantine protesters, another group of protesters are in the streets rallying against the ongoing brutality and killings by police officers that are mostly targeting African American citizens. This outrage was sparked by the viral footage of NYPD officers unjustly harassing and assaulting African American citizens and the death of Ahmad Arbury who was murdered by two suspected white supremacists who weren’t arrested until the footage leaked on social media. Our world is currently filled with nothing but chaos.”⁣
